This morning I saw lots of tiny flies warming up in the morning sun. I didn’t recognize them, so I grabbed my camera and took a macro photo. It turned out to be a Thaumatomyia species, mabey T. notata. This little fly belongs tot the family of Chloropidae and some species live mainly in flower meadows. Sometimes however they enter homes. A nickname is: Yellow Swarming Fly. The larvae are predaceous on aphids.
